In Latin , literally ‘place of standing’.

The word locus (plural loci) is Latin for “place”.
Locus standi”  is Latin for ‘place to stand’

In Law

  1.  the right of a party to appear and be heard before a court
  2. The right or capacity to bring an action or to appear in a court:
    3. the right to bring an action
     
    Whenever a person approaches a court , then it is the duty of that person to show that he or she has been harmed as a result of law and has Locus standi to get remedy from the  court by way of corrective action .
    In other words , the following three elements have to be justified :
    a. Existence of a justifiable Cause
    b. Remedy of Court
    c. Corrective Action
