GST Council Meeting Postponed to First Week of December 2016
GST Council meeting has now been cancelled twice in November,2016. It was initially scheduled on 09-10 November,2016 which was later deferred to 24-25 November,2016.
The backdrop of such cancellation is also the following :
a. In the past three days both Houses of Parliament have hardly been able to conduct any business.
b. A formal meeting of GST Council was held on 20th November 2016.
c. No conclusion was arrived at as to who shall have administartive control on assessees uptpo Rs 1.5 crore.
d. Draft GST Bill has been shared with States . They have sought time to refer it with their comments .
e. The new date of meeting for GST Council is  2-3rd December 2016.
