Supreme Court has held that National Green Tribunal (NGT) is empowered to issue directives to the Centre for banning vehicles more than 15 years old from running on Delhi roads.

With this , it is being anticipated that gradually , it shall be adopted by other state governments as well . Central Governmnet may also explore for bring some enactment to ban running of old vehicles on the road at par with other countries in the world where they have system to crush the vehicles after certain age.

This will not only reduce pollution but also enhance the sales of car makers in India .
